Since their establishment in 2008, they have swiftly emerged as a much-needed solution in the legal market, catering to major organisations seeking the expertise of smaller, boutique firms. CIE Legal is the go-to destination for comprehensive counsel on big projects and everyday advice, thanks to their innovative mindset and industry expertise.
Why were we a good fit?
CIE Legal is a prime example of the main type of company client we see at Social Star - a service business.
They began their retainer with Social Star in June 2022, paying $5,000 per month. They sought out Social Star as they were requiring a part-time marketing coordinator to draft content, manage their social media accounts, and coordinate events and proposals.
Their retainer covers a wide range of offerings from our team including, but not limited to; podcasts, videos, social media management, SEO advice, and LinkedIn optimisation.
CIE Legal was a great fit for us, as they were open to a current marketing student running their entire marketing strategy. While they get to see Carynna, a marketing student, in their offices, CIE Legal also receive advice and input from our entire team. Carynna Teh was placed at CIE Legal, where she works two days from their office and one day from home.
WHAT WE DID
Podcast
CIE Legal released their first podcast episode in March 2023 after a lot of behind-the-scenes work. We release one podcast episode every month, with each episode including the recording process, tile artwork, editing, a blog post, soundbites and show notes. Our job is to coordinate the entire project, which involves organising the publication of the podcast via Anchor. Anchor then disseminates the podcast to Spotify, Apple Podcast and Google Podcast for listeners to enjoy. Prior to the release, we ensure the episode has been approved by the guest speaker appearing on the podcast and we coordinate the editing process with our in-house podcast specialist, Tiarna Pepall.
Video
Carynna specialises in photography and videography, making her the perfect selection for CIE Legal. She has filmed and edited many videos for their social media accounts and for their internal processes, including company culture videos, induction videos, blooper reels, and more.

Social Media Management
The majority of our clients utilise our services to elevate their social media presence, as we take on everything that surrounds posting. We provide the copy, create graphics, manage posts, and create frequent reports to monitor the performance. Prior to working with us, CIE Legal’s social media accounts did not have a consistent posting schedule or consistent theme. Being a relatively new company in the context of the legal industry, this was an issue as they had not yet established their brand identity. In the time we have been working with CIE Legal, they have gained many followers across their platforms.
LinkedIn Revamp
For many of our clients, LinkedIn is the most important form of social media, so we have private workshops with CEO Andrew Ford to reflect the best version of yourself and the business. All partners at CIE Legal were involved in an executive LinkedIn strategy session to improve their profiles. This involves ensuring headshots were professional as well as creating a single banner that the entire team can use to improve cohesiveness.
